Dr. Moon, DPT
She understands, personally.
Welcome to Shine Wellness. I'm Moon, and for over twenty years I've believed that your body is like your home. It deserves ongoing care, not just repairs when something breaks.
At Shine Wellness, we specialize in pelvic health, orthopedic physical therapy, Pilates, health coaching, and strength and conditioning, all built around a simple idea: your body tells the story of your life, and healing means looking at the whole person, not just the symptom.
Whether you're preparing for motherhood, recovering from it, moving through midlife, or simply want to feel strong and capable in the body you have, we're here to help you do the maintenance now so you can thrive later. Sessions are offered in my private home studio and virtually, in a space designed to feel personal, warm, and unhurried.
Dr. Moon, DPTTwenty-one years as a physical therapist, with a background spanning orthopedics, women's health, and strength and conditioning. Her own knee injury and surgery first opened her eyes to what physical therapy could do.
The birth of her two children, and the realization that most women receive inadequate pelvic health care, led her to specialize in the care she wished had existed for her. She now supports women through the full female lifespan: pregnancy, postpartum, menopause, cancer recovery, and beyond.
When she is not with patients, she is in the ocean, swimming, surfing, and diving the waters of Oʻahu with her husband and two children.

Biofeedback, and seeing your progress
Dr. Moon is trained in pelvic floor biofeedback through the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute, and has completed over ten specialized courses in pelvic health.
What biofeedback does
Small sensors measure electrical activity in your pelvic floor muscles and display it on a screen as you work. You can watch your muscles respond, contracting when they should and releasing when they need to. This accelerates learning considerably, particularly for patients who have tried Kegel exercises without result.
Urinary incontinence
Learn to correctly activate the muscles that control leakage.
Dyspareunia, or painful sex
Release an overactive pelvic floor to restore comfort and intimacy.
Bladder control and urgency
Retrain coordination between the pelvic floor and the bladder.
Constipation and bowel dysfunction
Learning to relax the pelvic floor matters as much as strengthening it.
Labor preparation
Practice pelvic floor release and bearing-down mechanics before birth.
Your body fought hard.
Now let's help it heal.
Cancer treatment, particularly for breast, gynecologic, colorectal, and bladder cancers, leaves lasting effects on the pelvic floor that are rarely discussed and even more rarely treated.
Dr. Moon offers a safe and informed space where survivors can address these changes and genuinely reclaim their quality of life.
Every survivor is met with respect for their story, physical, emotional, and relational. Care meets you wherever you are in your recovery, and grows with you as you heal.
Breast cancer recovery
Hormonal therapy side effects, dryness, pain, and changes in intimacy.
Gynecologic cancers
Post-surgical rehabilitation, scar tissue, bladder and bowel dysfunction.
Radiation-related changes
Tissue fibrosis, pelvic pain, bowel and bladder urgency.
Post-treatment fatigue
Gentle, progressive movement to rebuild strength safely.
Lymphedema management
Integrated care for lower body lymphedema following treatment.
Every session is intentional
Enough time to genuinely address what is happening in your body, and a clear plan to continue between visits.
Initial Evaluation
A thorough review of your history, symptoms, and goals, with a full physical and pelvic floor assessment. You leave with a clear diagnosis and a plan.
Follow-Up Sessions

Reimbursement is not guaranteed and depends on your plan's out-of-network benefits. Confirm coverage with your insurer before your first visit.
HSA and FSA eligible

Everything you want to know
Your first visit is 75 minutes and begins with a thorough conversation about your history, symptoms, and goals. A physical assessment follows, which may include an internal pelvic floor examination, always explained fully and only with your consent. Biofeedback may be used so you can see your pelvic floor activity in real time. You leave with a clear diagnosis, a plan of care, and a MedBridge home program. Follow-up visits are 60 minutes.
It should never be painful. Some patients feel mild discomfort during the initial assessment if there is existing tension, but Dr. Moon moves entirely at your pace. You are always in control, and nothing happens without your understanding and consent.
No referral is required. You can contact Dr. Moon directly to schedule. If you have recent imaging, surgical notes, or records from your OB/GYN or oncologist, those are helpful to bring, though they are not required to begin.
Being cash-pay means Dr. Moon can spend the time each patient genuinely needs, without an insurance company dictating appointment length or frequency. You receive 75 minutes for your evaluation and 60 minutes at every follow-up. For reimbursement, Dr. Moon can provide a superbill you submit to your insurer, most commonly used with HMAA, HMSA, and Tricare. Reimbursement depends on your out-of-network benefits.
Yes. Physical therapy is generally eligible for reimbursement through Health Savings Accounts and Flexible Spending Accounts. Dr. Moon provides the documentation you need to submit. Confirm eligibility with your HSA or FSA administrator before your visit.
Biofeedback uses sensors to display your pelvic floor muscle activity on a screen in real time, so you can see whether you are contracting or releasing the right muscles. Dr. Moon is trained through the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute. It is particularly effective for incontinence, dyspareunia, bladder urgency, constipation, and labor preparation, especially if Kegel exercises alone have not worked. Dr. Moon will recommend it if it is right for you.
Yes, and it is one of the most impactful things you can do for your recovery. Radiation, surgery, and hormonal therapies significantly affect pelvic floor function in ways that are rarely treated. Dr. Moon takes an informed approach that honors what your body has been through, and will communicate with your oncology team as needed.
Yes. Before specializing in pelvic health, Dr. Moon spent years as an orthopedic physical therapist. She continues to treat frozen shoulder, hip pain and degeneration, knee osteoarthritis, shoulder impingement, SI joint dysfunction, sciatica, and general musculoskeletal pain, often within the same treatment plan.
Every patient is different, and Dr. Moon will give you an honest picture after your evaluation. Some see meaningful progress in four to six sessions. Others with more complex conditions benefit from longer care. The goal is always to give you the tools to maintain your progress independently.
Yes. Virtual consultations work well for patients who are not on Oʻahu, have limited mobility, or prefer to begin from home. Telehealth is ideal for education, home program review, health coaching, and follow-up care.
